Microsoft has signed a 10-year deal to bring future Xbox titles to Nintendo, including Call of Duty

Brad Smith, president of Microsoft, confirmed on his official Twitter that Nintendo has signed the agreement that will bring “ten years of Xbox games” to its consoles.

According to Smith, Nintendo signed the ten-year (10) deal, which was also offered to Sony, allowing Xbox to release its games as well as those of Activision Blizzard on Switch and future platforms. Most notably, the president emphasized the phrase “Xbox games,” implying that the agreement extends beyond Call of Duty.

Sadly, Smith did not clarify whether “Xbox Games” refers to well-known and naturally cross-platform titles like Minecraft, or if other huge games from Xbox Game Studios will reach there, primarily through Xbox Cloud Gaming and a possible Xbox launch. Game Pass is available on Nintendo platforms. Yet, we can infer that this is just a typo, considering the official photo of the contract never says “Xbox games,” only Call of Duty. Look at:

We’ve now signed a binding 10-year contract to bring Xbox games to Nintendo’s gamers. This is just part of our commitment to bring Xbox games and Activision titles like Call of Duty to more players on more platforms.

In the meantime, today appears to be a pivotal day for Microsoft Activision, who will defend their stance regarding the acquisition of Blizzard before the EU, one of the institutions that has been more serious and less confident of this movement. That won’t be simple because, as can be seen from mlxIn this defense, its biggest rivals—namely, Google, Nvidia, Electronic Arts, Valve, and of course, Sony—will be there.

Although Sony has established itself as the main rival in this battle, other players like Google and Nvidia have worked tirelessly to ensure that Microsoft is in an unchallenged position throughout.
