Transitioning from HBO Max: Seamless and Hassle-Free

Existing HBO Max subscribers can continue enjoying Max at their current plan’s rates ($10/month with ads or $16/month without ads). The HBO Max app will automatically update to Max on May 23. All profiles, settings, watch history, and lists will be migrated to Max, and subscribers will receive an email with more details about the transition.
HBO Max subscribers will retain access to their current plan features for at least six months after Max’s launch.
Discovery+ Subscribers: Keep Your Subscription or Upgrade to Max
Discovery+ subscribers can continue using the standalone service or opt to sign up for Max for an integrated streaming experience.
Device Compatibility and Availability
Max will be accessible on a wide range of devices, including phones, tablets, computers, TVs, set-top boxes, and gaming consoles. For now, Max will only be available in the United States.
Diverse Content Lineup: The Best of WB and Discovery
Max boasts an impressive selection of content from HBO, WB, and Discovery, including iconic shows like Game of Thrones, The Last of Us, and The Sopranos, along with hit movies like The Lord of the Rings and The Departed. The streaming service will also feature DC Universe films and TV series, the Harry Potter franchise, and popular Discovery shows from HGTV, Food Network, TLC, and Discovery Channel.
To keep the content fresh and engaging, Max plans to introduce an average of 40 new titles and seasons each month. Exciting upcoming content includes a new Harry Potter TV series, a Game of Thrones prequel titled A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight, a new Big Bang Theory show, a Conjuring TV series, and Rick and Morty: The Anime.
Max will also have a streamlined navigation system that seeks to handle the grunt work “so viewers don’t have to.” Members may anticipate improved content detail pages, simplified categories, shortcuts, and specialized brand hubs.
Last but not least, Max will only provide 4K UHD at the most costly membership tier. For $20 per month, subscribers to the Ultimate Ad-Free tier can see sponsored content in 4K UHD. All WB theatrical films released in 2023 and beyond will be offered in 4K UHD when they are released on Max, according to WB Discovery.
