Ghostwire: Tokyo Coming to Xbox and Game Pass on April 12th

Ghostwire: Tokyo, the action-adventure game developed by Tango Gameworks and published by Bethesda Softworks, is finally coming to Xbox Series X/S and Xbox Game Pass on April 12th. The game was previously released as a one-year timed exclusive for PlayStation 5 and Windows on March 25th.

Ghostwire: Tokyo is set in a version of Tokyo where 99% of the population has mysteriously vanished, leaving behind supernatural threats known as Visitors. The player character is one of the few survivors who has gained paranormal abilities that allow them to fight back against the Visitors. The game features a first-person perspective and a mix of melee and ranged combat using gestures.

Along with the Xbox launch, Ghostwire: Tokyo will also receive a free update called Spider’s Thread for all platforms . This update will add new content and features to the game, such as:

  • A new game mode called The Spider’s Thread, where the player has to complete a gauntlet of challenges using different abilities and weapons. The mode will have different difficulty levels and rewards for completing it .

  • New story elements that explore the origins of the Visitors and their connection to Japanese folklore. The player will encounter new characters and enemies, such as giant spiders, ghostly samurai, and yokai (supernatural creatures) .

  • New areas to explore in Tokyo, such as Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden, Roppongi Hills Mori Tower, and Shibuya Crossing. These areas will have new environmental puzzles, secrets, and collectibles .

  • New combat mechanics that allow the player to customize their abilities and weapons with different modifiers. The player will also be able to use stealth tactics to avoid or ambush enemies .

Ghostwire: Tokyo is expected to be one of the most immersive and atmospheric games of 2023, thanks to its stunning graphics, dynamic lighting, ray tracing effects, haptic feedback support (on PS5), adaptive triggers (on PS5), spatial audio (on PS5), Dolby Atmos (on Xbox), HDR10 (on Xbox), 4K resolution (on PS5/Xbox), 60 FPS performance mode (on PS5/Xbox), fast loading times (on PS5/Xbox), cross-play support (between PC/Xbox), cloud saves support (between PC/Xbox), achievements support (on PC/Xbox) ,and trophies support (on PS5).

What is Xbox Game Pass?

Xbox Game Pass is a service that allows subscribers to access over 100 games on Xbox consoles and PC for a monthly fee. The service also includes some exclusive titles from Microsoft Studios, such as Halo Infinite and Forza Horizon 5. Additionally, Xbox Game Pass members can play some games from third-party publishers on the day they launch, such as Outriders and Back 4 Blood.

Xbox Game Pass 2023: New Games Added So Far

As mentioned above, Xbox Game Pass is a subscription service offered by Microsoft that provides access to a library of over 100 games for Xbox consoles and Windows PCs. The service is available in three different plans: Console, PC, and Ultimate. The Console plan provides access to the Xbox Game Pass library on Xbox consoles, while the PC plan provides access to the library on Windows PCs. The Ultimate plan provides access to the library on both Xbox consoles and Windows PCs, as well as Xbox Live Gold, which is required for online multiplayer gaming on Xbox consoles.

According to Gamerant, Xbox Game Pass already has 44 games confirmed for 2023, including five Xbox Game Pass games for January 2023 (Persona 3 Portable, Persona 4 Golden, Monster Hunter Rise, Age of Empires 2, and Inkulinati), one game for February (Atomic Heart), and one game for March (Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty).
